Topic: “Our sufficiency is of God”

Bible Readings: 2 Corinthians 3

Questions:

  1. In II Corinthians 3: 5 it says, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” What does this verse mean ? (II Corinthians 3: 4, 5)
  2. In verse 6 it declares, “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. “ What does this mean? (II Corinthians 3: 6)
  3. In verse 17 it reads, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” What does this verse mean? How is this relevant for us today? (II Corinthians 3: 17)
  4. In verse 18 it says,” But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” What does this mean? (II Corinthians 3: 18)
